A days tuition at Riverton Fishery

On Friday 10th August I took my two eldest children to Riverton Fishery for their first taste of fishing.
we arrived at about 9am and the weather was glorious, we setup on peg 7 of the match lake and I started by showing the kids how to set up a whip. after a short while they had sussed it and we were ready to fish. I covered some Maggots in some Strawberry Atomic Cloud and we were ready to start. I started by explaining to them about feeding and how it is important to get the feed in a tight area when fishing like this. Brody started by throwing about 10 maggots out around 3m and i then proceeded to show them how to flick the rig out. I passed the whip to Saskia and helped her with the first cast, after about 20 seconds the float went under and she swung in a nice roach of about 3oz. Now for Brodys' first cast, out went the rig, float settles and goes straight under. after a little scrap I scoop the net under a nice Skimmer of about 8oz. what a start, after about an hour or two we decided it was my turn to have a fish for some carp, so i set up a method feeder and cast out to the island. within a few seconds the tip flew round and i was playing a nice little fish of about 2lb. this continued untill we decided to call it a day.
I intend to hold several more tuition days at Riverton Fishery in the Future so if your interested please get in touch.
