Well yesterday saw me at my new local venue Riverton fisheries in north devon.
I turned up in the morning and had a really good chat with the owner, and decided to fish the waggler, it was going to be a 2 pronged attack with the first line being about 2m from the island and the second was going to be towards a platform to my right which was about 16m.
I started by pinging a few casters out towards the island and a few grains of corn down to my right.
Setup was to be my trusty 13ft tourney pro and my Tdx 2508 with 4lb maxima.
A 5bb waggler to a 18 808.
First chuck to the island was rewarded with a skimmer of just over a pound then another and another.
30mins later i had 23 skimmers and then it went quiet, so i had a look down the edge, after 5mins the float dipped under and i connected to a lump, after a great battle i scooped the net under a mirror of about 8lb.
I was having a great session and wasnt even bothered by the freezing temperatures.
After 3 hrs fishing i was ready to call it a day and when i weighed my catch i hqd 52lb of skimmers and 27lb of carp. Overall a superb day qnd one thqt the younger lads that came to watch will never forget.
